Hello! I'm Suzie.
I'm a freelance illustrator working from my little house in the beautiful Bournville, England, where I live with my husband and ball-of-fuzz kitty.
I loved art as a child but growing up ended up following a scientific path, studying Astrophysics and then Medical Imaging at university. I could never quite shake the art bug however, and in my mid twenties I began to learn digital art which I had always admired. Soon I realised that art what was I wanted to do with my life, and after signing with the Bright Agency I was lucky enough to become a full-time artist in 2017.
Since then I have illustrated 12 books, and was delighted to have I've Loved You Since Forever by Hoda Kotb reach Number 1 in the New York Times Bestsellers list for Children's Books.
My illustrations are born from a love of representing something in a simple, bold way that still captures its essence while introducing fun through stylisation and colour.
I draw fun children's non-fiction, as well as stylised children's art and greetings card designs. All my pieces are digital and hand-drawn in Photoshop. I particularly love texture, and enjoy the way that working digitally allows for the application of a variety of textures to my work. I love using bright colours and generally making happy artwork!
Clients include HarperCollins, Cantata Learning, Amicus Ink, Liontree Publishing, Little Tiger, Stripes and UK Greetings. I'd love to work with you! If you'd like to discuss any projects please do get in touch via my agency, the lovely Bright Agency.
